Top attorneys are moving to law firms that invest in corporate legal disputes, a part of the industry that just a few short years ago was largely unknown. According to a recent Wall Street Journal article written by Sara Randazzo, litigation finance firms are raising hundreds of millions of dollars and staffing up to put that money to work.
Funding companies are supposedly attracting attorneys from elite law firms including Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP, Latham & Watkins LLP, Proskauer Rose LLP and Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. It has quickly gotten to the point that principals at several litigation-finance firms say unsolicited resumes land in their inboxes weekly from attorneys seeking a change.
